Childhood and Youth Studies BA Honours (2014)
I completed my degree in Childhood and Youth Studies in 2014 soon after landing in exile in Ireland. An older student, I loved the discipline of writing essays and learning. I wasn’t blessed with children myself so have more time on my hands but thus see all children equally. My aim and focus is for education and fun for children as they are the future and have a vested interest. Knowledge is being lost as are imaginations and children are being disconnected from Mother Nature.
The aim is to have online and actual classes for all ages and abilities. Possibly regular and one off classes either in the studio or the poly-tunnel, incorporating art, recycling, dance and walking around the garden learning about animal habitats, plant identification and including the Irish words as Inse na Scarty is in a Gaeltacht (Irish speaking) area and we aim to try and keep the language alive.
